Hey City Schools!

Get ready to celebrate Black History Month with your creativity! It’s time for students to submit their original artwork—whether it’s a painting, drawing, digital piece, or mixed media. This is a chance to honor the contributions of Black leaders, artists, and trailblazers in a unique way!

Artwork drop-offs start December 9th at City Hall from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Please see details below to ensure your submission goes smoothly:

Who can submit?
School-aged children, elementary through high school

Award categories:

  • Pencil or crayon drawings

  • Charcoal or pastels

  • Paintings

  • Collages/Mixed Media

  • Digital

    Artist categories and size requirements:

  • Elementary school age: no larger than 11 by 17 inches

  • Middle school age: no larger than 11 by 17 inches

  • High school age: no larger than 18 by 24 inches

  • Collaborative work: no larger than 24 by 36 inches

Artwork should be labeled and delivered to City Hall
100 Holliday Street, Baltimore, MD 21202 (front desk).

Drop-offs are from Monday, December 9th through Friday, December 13th; 8:30am – 4:30pm only. Artwork will not be accepted after Dec. 13th.
