Real world experiences.

Mayor Scott charged the Mayor’s Office of Children & Family Success with establishing cabinet member youth shadows. Mayor Scott’s Youth Shadow Program gives youth, ages 14 to 21, an opportunity to observe elected and appointed officials performing their daily work routine in their work environment.

Through this program, Baltimore’s youth will explore government careers to get a realistic picture of the tasked performed to keep our city running and safe. At the same time, youth will contribute to a real-world project being worked on by a Mayoral agency. Ultimately, the program will support youth in making an informed decision around their career choice while empowering them to influence the effectiveness of city government in responding to and supporting young people.
